WE'RE SET TO TACKLE TWENTY MILE COASTAL WALK FOR CANCER RESEARCH

We're hoping to raise £10,000 for our chosen charity, Cancer Research UK, through our upcoming walk from Scarborough Castle to Whitby Abbey, which is set to take place between Friday 21st September and Sunday 23rd September.

Our staff decided on Cancer Research UK as this year's chosen charity, meaning it is the recipient of any fundraising activities we carry out throughout the year. This year's walk will be the main group-wide fundraising event, with both staff and customers encouraged to take part.

Having previously organised annual fundraising events for chosen charities including mountainous walks to the likes of Ben Nevis and Snowdon, it was decided that it was time to try something different: a walk from Scarborough Castle to Whitby Abbey.

While this walk will be less daunting for some of the participants than previous events, they will be covering an approximately 20 mile coastal stretch - meaning it will still be a challenge worthy of sponsorship! The coastal walk will see participants taking in historical sights and, providing the weather is clear, the epic scenery along Cleveland Way.

Our event organisers were keen to continue this fundraising activity once again this year, as not only will it benefit Cancer Research UK, but it has also proved enormously popular with our staff over the years. For this year's walk, 38 people have signed up for the full weekend, leaving just two spaces available. There is no deadline to signing up to taking part in the event: all that is required is a commitment to achieving a fundraising target of £250. Alternatively, anyone can turn up on the day providing they pay a small fee to cover the bus back again.

The costs of the event are shared between us and the participants, so every penny donated will go towards finding a cure for cancer sooner. If you'd like to donate, please visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JasonSinclair.

We'd like to wish everyone taking part the best of luck!
