Howarth supplies UK first

The UK’s first specification of thermally treated Platowood Fraké timber cladding has been supplied by Howarth Timber & Building Supplies Ltd, forming the exterior facade of Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s newly refurbished ten-bed psychiatric intensive care unit.

The facility, known as Rowanwood Ward, is part of the Carleton Clinic on Cumwhinton Road in the city. It has been extensively developed and finished with 150 m2 of this highly durable and attractive cladding solution.

Ideal for cladding projects where an aesthetically attractive knot-free result is required, Platowood Fraké is chemical free and offers a highly durable finish that is resistant to biological infestation. One of a comprehensive number of cladding solutions from Howarth, Platowood Fraké requires minimal maintenance, is 100% recyclable, has a life expectancy in excess of 30 years and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Howarth Timber & Building Supplies is part of the Howarth Group, the UK’s largest privately owned timber company, and operates through a network of 28 merchant branches and several specialist businesses, including Howarth Windows & Doors and Howarth Timber Engineered Solutions.
